STARTING THE NEW SEMESTER WITH A SERIES OF ENGLISH CONTESTS - ENGLISH CONTESTS

This January, at Greenfield School there will be extremely attractive English competitions, promising to be a useful playground, bringing a lot of joy and excitement to learning for all students.

At the beginning of the new year and the new semester, at Greenfield School there will be extremely attractive English competitions. This promises to be a useful playground, bringing a lot of joy and learning excitement to all Greenfield students, such as: SPELLING BEE, RING THE GOLDEN BELL, BUCKY'S ENGLISH SHOW.

Participating in the ENGLISH CONTESTS competition series, students of all grades have the opportunity to review knowledge, exchange, learn, and share joy together when conquering new challenges. From there, children practice confidence, sharp thinking and promote the spirit of learning.

SPELLING BEE 2024 - "English Spelling" contest for students in grades 1, 2, 3: improve pronunciation skills, develop word memory ability, increase vocabulary and train quick thinking and reflexes when using English through spelling rounds with increasing difficulty.

Participants:

  • Students in grades 1, 2 and 3

Time, place:

  • Qualifying round: January 8 - January 12, 2024
  • Final round: January 22, 2024

Contest form:

  • Students compete in qualifying rounds in class to select potential contestants for the final round

Contest rules:

Qualifying round: 08/01 - 12/01/2024

  • Students take the test in class. In the group, the students with the highest results from top to bottom will be selected to enter the Semi-Final round.
  • The test includes 15 questions: 5 questions about arranging letters into correct words + 10 questions about looking at pictures and writing words, with suggested number of letters.

Final Round: 22/01/2024

  • Round 1: Students compete in the form of gathering on the competition floor according to their registration number. Students take turns choosing sets of words from 1 to 12 (each set of words has 3 words). The judges will read the word once and students will spell it again. Students who can spell at least 1 word out of a total of 3 words will enter round 2. If all 3/3 words are correct, they will be the lucky Golden Bee (used in round 3).
  • Vòng 2: Students compete in a knockout competition in pairs. The organizers read 5 words in turn, students rang the bell to gain the right to answer. The student who can spell more will advance to the next round, and the student who can spell less will be eliminated.
  • Vòng 3: Students draw a set of vocabulary. In 60 seconds, the examiner will read the words in that vocabulary set for students to spell. The student who can spell the most vocabulary words in the shortest amount of time wins. Students have the right to use the Lucky Golden Bee to double the points of 01 word selected in the vocabulary set.

 

RING THE GOLDEN BELL for students in grades 3, 4, 5: With the format of a famous game show on television, Ring the Golden Bell is where students can compete and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding. rich with a healthy, positive and vibrant competitive atmosphere. At the same time, the contest helps children practice confidence when standing in front of a crowd and expressing their personal opinions.

  • Students in Grade 3, 4 and 5

Time, Place: 

  • Friday, 18th January 2024
  • The hall 1st floor

Contest Rule: 

  • Students take the exam at the same time

Prize structure:

  • 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, Certificates for all participants

Contest Rules:  

  • The Ring the Golden Bell program has 20 questions in English. Each student has the opportunity to go from question 1 to question 20 and will get to ring a golden bell. Your time to think and answer is 20 seconds for each question.
  • When time is up, raise your board. If you answer correctly, you get to stay in the ring. If your answer is wrong, you are eliminated from the game. And those who are eliminated will sit in the prescribed position.
  • If the last contestant answers question number 20 correctly, he or she will get to ring the Golden Bell. In the last 5 questions (difficult questions), if there is only 1 contestant left on the competition floor, the contestant has the right to use the help right (1 time).
  • If after 20 questions there are still 2 or more contestants, we will continue to search for the Golden Bell Ringer with additional questions. If in case you have not passed question number 10 but there are only 3 candidates left on the stage, the teachers of each class will help with a small contest prescribed by the organizers. If the teachers win the challenge of the organizers, then the candidates of the class will that will be returned to the exam.

 

BUCKY'S ENGLISH SHOW Exciting English gameshow for middle school students: unique program with diverse and rich competitions, promising to be a fierce competition between teams to find the winning team. Gameshows give children new perspectives on how to learn English, practice teamwork skills, and the ability to confidently express and interact in English.

Participants: 

  • Student at Secondary Level

Time, Place: 

  • Qualifying Round: From 8th to 12th January 2024
  • Final Round: 19th January 2024
  • The Hall 1st Floor at Greenfield School

Contest Form: 

  • Students take the time at the same time

Prize Structure: 

  • 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, 1 Impressive Prize, 1 Team Prize All participating teams received certificates from the Organizing Committee.

Contest Rules:
